A subdomain is part of a web address which is under the main domain, for instance name.example.com. From a technical perspective, even in www.example.com the "www" element is a subdomain since the fully qualified domain name is just "example.com". Each subdomain could have its own web site and records and can even be hosted with a different company if you need to use some feature which isn't provided by your current service provider. An illustration for using a subdomain is if you have a company website along with an online store under a subdomain where customers can purchase your products. You can even have a forum where they can talk about the products and by using subdomains rather than subfolders you are going to avoid any risk of all websites going down when you perform maintenance, or update one of the website scripts. Keeping your websites separated is more secure in case there is a script security breach.

Subdomains in Web Hosting

Our web hosting packages will enable you to create many subdomains for any domain name hosted inside your account without any problem. Provided that the main domain name is added, it requires two clicks to create a subdomain and choose what folder it's going to open (if different from the default one), set customized error pages, activate FrontPage Extensions, set a shared IP address or a dedicated one, plus much more. All subdomains are going to be conveniently listed in alphabetical order under their main domain for easy access and management. By right-clicking on any of them and by using instant access buttons you can view the error logs, visitor statistics or site files for that particular subdomain. We have not set a restriction for the total amount of subdomains which you can create with any one of our plans, so you can have as many as you want.

Subdomains in Semi-dedicated Hosting

You’re able to create as many subdomains as you want with any of our semi-dedicated hosting because we haven't set a maximum limit for this feature. The Hepsia hosting Control Panel will allow you to add a new subdomain with just a few mouse clicks and you can access a number of advanced features during the process - change the default access folder, select the IP address the subdomain will use from the shared and dedicated ones that are offered in your account, activate FrontPage Extensions, add an SSL certificate, plus much more. Even if you set up a great number of subdomains, you're going to be able to keep track of them with ease as they are going to be listed in alphabetical order under their main domain. For each of them, you can also access the site files or see logs and usage statistics via fast access buttons.
